WHAT IS IPDG?

The Industry Promotion and Development Grant (IPDG) was initiated by MCMC in 2012. MTSFB has been entrusted by MCMC to manage the grant and oversee projects implemented by grant recipients. The IPDG aims to enhance knowledge, foster Research & Development (R&D), and boost competitiveness in technology innovation by supporting Proof-of-Concept (PoC) projects that benefit the communications and multimedia industry.

OBJECTIVES

To spur technology, standards development and adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) within the field of communication network, infrastructure and applications.

To discover new strategic mechanisms that will reduce cost, increase value, and contribute to a better, healthier and more conducive user experience.

To encourage members of MTSFB or the industry to develop innovative projects that can benefit the communications and multimedia industry.

To contribute to the development of new standards as use cases in developing recommendations to the regional as well as international platform to be equipotential with developed countries.

To provide solutions to common problems confronted by the industry in its own effort to enhance the services offered to the consumers.

To contribute to the realisation of national policy objectives and support the achievement of transformative national visions and goals.

The Call for Proposals for the Industry Promotion and Development Grant (IPDG) 2024 Cycle 2 is now open for applications.

Key Details:
CFP Deadline: 6 March 2025
Project Duration: 12 months
Grant Value: Up to RM200,000 per project
Eligibility: Open to MTSFB registered member organisations.

Terms & Conditions:

Membership in MTSFB as a registered organisation.
Commit to a 3-year post-grant engagement, including active participation in MTSFB activities and involvement in drafting technical codes.

Vision Based Intelligent Traffic Monitoring System (VBITMS)

September 2022 - October 2022

This project aims to develop a Proof of Concept (PoC) on a vision-based intelligent traffic monitoring system that classifies and counts vehicles as they move through a fixed detection zone in a CCTV field of view.

Designing A Green Delivery Network For Medicine and Vaccine Delivery in Rural Areas Using Drone

March 2021 - September 2022

This project was run based on proving the concept of medical drones and the delivery ability to rural area hospitals using a customized drone and green delivery network.

Lightning Interference in 4G Wireless Communication Links

April 2021 - April 2022

The objective of this project is to quantify and analyse the effect of lightning electromagnetic interference to 4G wireless communication links.

Monitoring System and Localisation of COVID19 Patient

March 2021 - March 2022

This project aims to implement the Proof of Concept (PoC) of the Monitoring System and Localisation of COVID19 Patient, which was carried out in Pusat Kuarantin dan Rawatan (PKRC) at Kolej Jururawat Masyarakat Kangar (KJM).

AI-IoT Based Interactive Children Educational Application

Apr 2021 - Feb 2022

This PoC uses deep learning Artificial Intelligence (AI) based on image classification and object detection to develop vocabulary and mathematics skills enhancement application with the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) platform.

V-SUrF: Smart Urban Farming for Vegetables

10/05/2019 - 10/11/2020

This project aimed to utilise cloud-IoT platform in urban farming by analysing data, developing a decision support system (DSS) and smart scheduling system that automatically triggers urban farm sensors through mobile application.
