WHAT IS IPDG?

The Industry Promotion and Development Grant (IPDG) was initiated by MCMC in 2012. MTSFB has been entrusted by MCMC to manage the grant and oversee projects implemented by grant recipients. The IPDG aims to enhance knowledge, foster Research & Development (R&D), and boost competitiveness in technology innovation by supporting Proof-of-Concept (PoC) projects that benefit the communications and multimedia industry.

OBJECTIVES

To spur technology, standards development and adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) within the field of communication network, infrastructure and applications.

To discover new strategic mechanisms that will reduce cost, increase value, and contribute to a better, healthier and more conducive user experience.

To encourage members of MTSFB or the industry to develop innovative projects that can benefit the communications and multimedia industry.

To contribute to the development of new standards as use cases in developing recommendations to the regional as well as international platform to be equipotential with developed countries.

To provide solutions to common problems confronted by the industry in its own effort to enhance the services offered to the consumers.

To contribute to the realisation of national policy objectives and support the achievement of transformative national visions and goals.

The Call for Proposals for the Industry Promotion and Development Grant (IPDG) 2024 Cycle 2 is now open for applications.

Key Details:
CFP Deadline: 6 March 2025
Project Duration: 12 months
Grant Value: Up to RM200,000 per project
Eligibility: Open to MTSFB registered member organisations.

Terms & Conditions:

Membership in MTSFB as a registered organisation.
Commit to a 3-year post-grant engagement, including active participation in MTSFB activities and involvement in drafting technical codes.

The proposal submission must include the below documentations.

b. Grant application form;
c. Proposal; and
d. All relevant supporting documentations

This project aimed to develop an autonomous wildlife intrusion detection system (ASIDS) by using recent machine learning technique and hybrid of computing optimization method for an optimal performance.

Development Of Energy-Efficient, Long Range Communication System For Environmental Monitoring Using Low Power Wide Area Networks For Internet of Things

The remote environmental monitoring system aimed to develop and monitor various parameters at Pulau Bidong such as temperature, humidity, pH value of water, turbidity and etc. A long-range communication network using LPWAN technology was applied for the end node which is located at Pulau Bidong and the base station/gateway which is located at a top of building in UMT.

The solution helps in relaying crucial information to their next of kin, providing prediction on their health so that precautionary measures can be taken.

E-Padi – An IOT Based Paddy Productivity Monitoring and Advisory

A platform to measure PH, water level, temperature and humidity of paddy field through deployment of sensors for better paddy yield. Monitoring & notifications through mobile app utilising LORA for communication.
