INTERNATIONAL MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATION (IMT) AND FUTURE NETWORKS (IFN)

The International Mobile Telecommunication and Future Networks Working Group is focused on identifying and developing roadmaps, guidelines, recommendations, and standards to accelerate the adoption of 5G technology (IMT-2020). It facilitates the development of 5G use cases relevant to Malaysia, organises periodic seminars to enhance industry competency and raise awareness of 5G, and actively participates in regional and international IMT-2020 activities, including those led by ITU and APT.

  1. To develop IoT-related technical reports, guidelines, recommendations and standards.
  2. To work on Smart Sustainable Cities and 4th Industrial Revolution Technical Documents that are specific to IoT.
  3. To advise regulatory, legal and governmental bodies on IoT.
  4. To be involved in the IoT conferences and standards meeting such as ITU SG 20.
  5. To hold seminars on IoT standards and new emerging applications.
  6. To provide and create interoperability and conformance testing standards for IoT products.
