Tech Talk in Collaboration with Knet Korea: Optimising Fiber Deployment with Microduct Solutions

The Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) co-hosted a focused tech talk with Knet Korea on how microduct solutions can accelerate nationwide broadband roll-outs while improving long-term network resilience. The session brought together network planners, fibre deployment teams, infrastructure owners, municipal operators and solution partners to discuss practical approaches for scalable, greener and future-ready fibre infrastructure.

As Malaysia accelerates its digital transformation and nationwide 5G deployment, the demand for reliable, scalable and cost-efficient fibre infrastructure is rapidly increasing. Microduct technology has been widely adopted across Europe, the Middle East and Asia as an innovative solution that enables faster, greener and more flexible network expansion.

Key highlights

  • Rapid deployment: simplified, easy installation and readiness for fibre-blowing methods.
  • Reliability and longevity: materials engineered for 50+-year service life with rodent-resistant options.
  • Operations & maintenance: lower maintenance and quicker restoration using the right tools and methods.
  • Future-proofing: modular ducts that provide spare capacity and clear paths for incremental upgrades.
  • Sustainability: smaller trenches and efficient builds that support lower-impact construction practices.

About Knet Korea

Founded in 2002, Knet Korea has evolved from a PE-duct product supplier into a total-solution partner for telecommunications and related infrastructure, delivering high-quality products alongside engineering services and training. Its approach is underpinned by continuous investment in advanced manufacturing, skilled teams and reputable global references.

Participants engaged in a Q&A on standards alignment, right-of-way considerations, restoration best practices and integration with existing network designs. The session concluded with a networking segment to explore collaboration opportunities and knowledge-sharing across the ecosystem.
