Strengthening Cross-Sector Collaboration: MTSFB Engages with Malaysia Nuclear Agency

On 21 March 2025, the Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) had the privilege of engaging with Dr. Rosli bin Darmawan, Director General of the Malaysia Nuclear Agency (ANM), in an introductory meeting that marked the beginning of a promising cross-sector collaboration.

During the session, both MTSFB and ANM shared comprehensive overviews of their organisational backgrounds, mandates, and core areas of expertise. The exchange provided valuable insight into each party’s role in advancing national development through standards and innovation.

A heartfelt tribute was also paid to the late Allahyarhamah Puan Roha Tukimin, Head of Non-Ionising Radiation (NIR) at ANM, whose unwavering support significantly contributed to the development of two MTSFB Technical Codes: Prediction and Measurement of RF-EMF Exposure from Base Stations and Prediction and Measurement of RF-EMF Exposure from Terrestrial Radio and Television Broadcasting Transmitter Stations.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to conduct follow-up discussions focused on these key technical areas. Additionally, the potential for ANM to become a member of MTSFB was explored, with a view to fostering deeper collaboration and continuous knowledge exchange.

This engagement represents a meaningful step towards a multidisciplinary partnership between MTSFB and ANM—one that holds potential to drive innovation and strengthen standardisation across the communications, multimedia, and nuclear sectors.
