The Malaysia Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB), in collaboration with IEEE Malaysia ComSoc/VTS Joint Chapter, UTM Wireless Communication Centre (WCC) and TM R&D, jointly organised the MY 6G Summit 2025 on 3rd December 2025 to advance Malaysia’s position in next-generation wireless technology.

The summit gathered leading experts from academia, industry and government to share insights on 6G vision, global roadmap, key enabling technologies, and ecosystem readiness. Began with opening remarks from Dr. Bruce, Chair of IEEE Malaysia ComSoc/VTS Joint Chapter, he highlighted the importance of industry–academia partnerships in enhancing Malaysia’s position in the global 6G ecosystem.

Keynote speakers included Prof. Emeritus Dr. Tharek Abd Rahman (MCMC Academy), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohsen Khalily (University of Surrey), Mr. Zaaim Redha (Zeta IoS) and Dr. Stefan Parkvall (Ericsson Research), who highlighted emerging technologies such as AI-native networks, terahertz communication, integrated sensing and satellite–terrestrial convergence.

Two expert panel sessions further explored challenges and opportunities in 6G, as well as standardisation and adoption pathways, featuring representatives from TM R&D, IX Telecom, GSMA, XCelcius Sdn Bhd, MyIoTA and local universities.

The event also showcased student research posters, industry booths and networking sessions, demonstrating Malaysia’s growing capabilities in advanced wireless innovation.
