Multimedia University (MMU) has been awarded funding under the Industry Promotion and Development Grant (IPDG) 2025 Cycle 1, which focuses on the theme Artificial Intelligence for Network Security.
The award was formalised through an agreement sign off ceremony between Ms. Azni Risa Ramlan, Chairman of MTSFB, and Dr. Siti Azlida Ibrahim, representative of Multimedia University, marking the commencement of a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening AI driven cybersecurity capabilities within Malaysia’s communications and multimedia ecosystem.
Under this initiative, MMU will collaborate with ZTE (Malaysia) Corporation Sdn Bhd, bringing together academic research expertise and industry experience to drive practical and impactful outcomes. The collaboration reflects a strong industry–academia partnership model that supports technology development aligned with real-world network security challenges.
The IPDG programme continues to serve as a key platform in advancing industry development, fostering innovation, and strengthening collaboration among ecosystem stakeholders. The 2025 Cycle 1 theme underscores the growing importance of artificial intelligence in enhancing network protection, improving threat detection capabilities, and building resilient digital infrastructure.
