How is the Asia-Pacific region advancing the future of AI and emerging technology standards? This question took centre stage at the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) ASTAP-38 Meeting and Industry Day Workshop, where MTSFB joined regional stakeholders in progressing standardisation initiatives across key technology domains.
Industry Day Workshop: Focus on AI and Emerging Technologies
Held on 20 April 2026, the Industry Day Workshop highlighted developments in artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.
Dr. Azizul Azizan, Secretary of the AI Task Force, presented the MTSFB Framework for AI Technical Standardization in the Physical AI Era, outlining Malaysia’s approach to structured and forward-looking AI standards.
Prof. Dr. Shahrulniza Musa, Chair of the Standards and Technology Planning (STP) Working Group, shared insights on accelerating technology adoption through Malaysia’s MyTMAP2030 Standards Framework, emphasising the role of standards in enabling national digital transformation.
ASTAP-38 Forum: Advancing Key Work Items
