The Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA) hosted a one-day site visit for Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Berhad (MTSFB) at their Space Operations Complex (SOC) in Temerloh, Pahang.
The inaugural site visit on 10th December 2025 was aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening collaboration ties between MYSA and MTSFB. The programme brought together a diverse group of participants comprising esteemed academics, industry leaders, regulators, and technical experts, reflecting a strong multi-stakeholder interest in satellite and space-related technologies.
Following a warm welcome, the event proceeded to an insightful briefing by MYSA representative, Encik Mohammad Azrin bin Daud, which highlighted the history of MYSA establishment and the organisation’s key role and impact. These include key projects that involved satellite data that were processed and utilised to bring value to various sectors such as natural resources management, agriculture, land and area development, as well as environmental health.
The briefing was followed by a fruitful question-and-answer session, allowing participants to engage directly with MYSA representatives and exchange perspectives on satellite operations, data utilisation, and future collaboration opportunities.
In line with the multi-stakeholder participation highlighted earlier, the visit included MTSFB members from the Satellite Communications Working Group, notably its Vice Chairs, Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohamad Huzaimy bin Jusoh (Universiti Teknologi MARA) and Mr. Zaaim Redha Abdul Rahman (ZETA IOS Sdn Bhd), reflecting the Working Group’s continued engagement in satellite communications standardisation. The delegation also comprised representatives from MEASAT Satellite Systems, CelcomDigi Berhad, Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd, EDOTCO Malaysia, XCelsius Sdn Bhd, as well as academic institutions including Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, alongside officials from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
At the end of the briefing, the group proceeded to visit the satellite data receiving system station before wrapping up the event with a memorable group photo.
MTSFB expresses its heartfelt appreciation to MYSA for the inspiring site visit and hopes that the event will bring meaningful ongoing engagement and supportive future collaborative efforts.
