WHAT IS IPDG?

The Industry Promotion and Development Grant (IPDG) was initiated by MCMC in 2012. MTSFB has been entrusted by MCMC to manage the grant and oversee projects implemented by grant recipients. The IPDG aims to enhance knowledge, foster Research & Development (R&D), and boost competitiveness in technology innovation by supporting Proof-of-Concept (PoC) projects that benefit the communications and multimedia industry.

OBJECTIVES

To spur technology, standards development and adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) within the field of communication network, infrastructure and applications.

To discover new strategic mechanisms that will reduce cost, increase value, and contribute to a better, healthier and more conducive user experience.​

To encourage members of MTSFB or the industry to develop innovative projects that can benefit the communications and multimedia industry.

To contribute to the development of new standards as use cases in developing recommendations to the regional as well as international platform to be equipotential with developed countries.​

To provide solutions to common problems confronted by the industry in its own effort to enhance the services offered to the consumers.​

To contribute to the realisation of national policy objectives and support the achievement of transformative national visions and goals.

CALL FOR PROPOSAL​​

The Call for Proposal (CFP) for the Industry Promotion and Development Grant (IPDG) 2026 Cycle 1 is now open for applications.

Key Details:
CFP Deadline: 16 March 2026, 12:00 PM 03:00 PM
Project Duration: 3 months
Grant Value: Shall not exceed RM120,000 per project
Eligibility: Open to MTSFB registered member organisations.

Terms & Conditions:

  1. Membership in MTSFB as a registered organisation.
  2. Commit to a 3-year post-grant engagement, including active participation in MTSFB activities and involvement in drafting technical codes.

How to Apply:

The proposal submission must include the below documentations.

  1. Cover letter;
  2. Grant application form;
  3. Proposal in power point format to further describe and illustrate your project based on the grant application form; and
  4. All relevant supporting documentations

The submission documentations are to be submitted via email to ipdg@mtsfb.org.my and be sent with the email subject, “IPDG SUBMISSION 2026 Cycle 1”.

  2. To work on Smart Sustainable Cities and 4th Industrial Revolution Technical Documents that are specific to IoT.
