Workshop on TC Development for CT WG

The Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) successfully organised a two-day workshop aimed at accelerating the development of three Draft Technical Codes (TCs) under the Communications Terminal Working Group (CT WG). The event gathered subject matter experts, industry stakeholders, and technical committee members to collaboratively review and finalise key standards aligned with the MCMC’s National Communications Equipment Framework (NCEF).

The workshop was designed to facilitate technical discussions among stakeholders to refine the three Draft Technical Codes (TCs), consolidate and confirm the minimum technical requirements, strengthen communication among parties involved in equipment certification, and ensure the timely submission of TCs identified under the National Communications Equipment Framework (NCEF) initiative for Q3 2025.

Draft Technical Codes in Focus:

  1. MTSFB2506R0 – IMT-Advance (4G) – Base Station
  2. MTSFB2507R2 – IMT-Advance (4G) – User Equipment (Second Revision)
  3. MTSFB2508R1 – Aeronautical Radiocommunications Equipment – Specifications (First Revision)

Workshop Highlights

Day 1 featured in-depth breakout sessions across three groups, with discussions focused on closing identified gaps and harmonising stakeholder expectations. Participants worked on content refinement and aligned on critical components to ensure consistency and compliance.

Day 2 continued with content presentations, plenary discussions, and final alignment sessions. Each group presented their outcomes, which were deliberated and validated in the closing plenary led by the CT WG Chair.

The insights and feedback gathered during the workshop will directly support the finalisation of the three Draft TCs, which are expected to be submitted for Public Comment approval in the upcoming quarter. The collaborative approach adopted during this workshop marks a significant step forward in the development of trusted and robust national standards.
