TC Development Workshop for RNF WG

The Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) successfully held a three-day Technical Code (TC) Development Workshop for the Radiocommunications Network Facilities (RNF) Working Group, gathering key stakeholders, industry representatives, and subject matter experts at Lexis & Grand Lexis Hotel, Port Dickson.

The primary goal of the workshop was to bring together stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliberate and finalise two key Draft Technical Codes:

  1. MTSFB2412R1 – Radiocommunications Network Facilities – Smart Pole (First Revision)
  2. MTSFB2413R1 – Radiocommunications Network Facilities – Street Furniture (First Revision)

Through collaborative discussions, the workshop aimed to consolidate minimum technical requirements, ensure mutual agreement across stakeholders, and foster effective communication among parties involved in equipment certification.

Workshop Highlights

Day 1 commenced with sharing sessions from Penang State Government and Terengganu Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, offering insights into the implementation of intelligent pole infrastructure at the state level. This was followed by detailed briefings on the draft TCs by respective leads and initial breakout group discussions.

Day 2 focused on continued group discussions and working sessions to address technical gaps, refine content, and align perspectives. The day concluded with each group presenting their preliminary outcomes and updates based on feedback.

Day 3 featured final group presentations, a plenary session led by the RNF WG Chair, and wrap-up remarks highlighting the path forward toward Public Comment submission.

This workshop served as a critical milestone in the development of national infrastructure-related technical standards. With the drafts now consolidated and refined, the RNF Working Group will proceed with final preparations for Public Comment approval, further strengthening Malaysia’s commitment to future-ready and community-conscious telecommunications infrastructure.
