Workshop on Standards Development for NEA and IFN Working Group

In July 2024, the Numbering and Electronic Addressing (NEA) Working Group (WG), together with the International Mobile Telecommunication and Future Networks (IFN) WG, held a workshop at Scapes Hotel, Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Experts from the NEA WG, along with additional experts, came together for 3 days and 2 nights to deliberate the Technical Code (TC) draft titled Internet Protocol Version 6 – Deployment Specifications for Segment Routing Over IPv6. The discussion was led by the WG Chair and the Draft Lead, Professor Emeritus Sureswaran Ramadass. The TC was already about 70% complete before the workshop, and by the end of the session, the team successfully achieved the main objective—to finalise the TC draft and get it ready for the Public Comment exercise in August 2024.

This TC draft wouldn’t have been completed without the hard work and dedication of the WG members from My6 Initiatives, Maxis, TM Technology and Services Sdn Bhd, Persatuan IPv6 Malaysia, Multimedia University, CelcomDigi, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Digital Nasional Berhad, Huawei, and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
