Penang Smart Manufacturing Site Visit October 2024

The Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) recently conducted a series of insightful visits to key industry players as part of its ongoing efforts to develop a comprehensive Smart Manufacturing Framework. These engagements underscore MTSFB’s commitment to driving innovation and fostering collaboration within Malaysia’s manufacturing sector, in alignment with Industry 4.0 objectives.

On 29th October 2024, the delegation visited the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) and Inari Amertron Berhad. These visits provided a firsthand look at cutting-edge technologies and skill-building initiatives that are pivotal in shaping the future of Malaysia’s manufacturing landscape. PSDC’s commitment to upskilling the workforce and Inari’s innovative approaches to semiconductor manufacturing highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration in achieving sustainable, tech-enabled growth.

Additionally, over the subsequent two days, MTSFB engaged with Yollink, Eng Tek, and Eclimo to explore their respective contributions to smart manufacturing. Yollink showcased its IoT-enabled automation technologies, while Eng Tek demonstrated its advancements in precision engineering. Eclimo’s efforts in sustainable electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing further emphasized the potential of green technologies in driving the sector forward.

These site visits provided invaluable insights into the latest trends and best practices, reinforcing the importance of building a robust ecosystem for smart manufacturing in Malaysia. MTSFB’s Smart Manufacturing Framework aims to foster a smarter, more efficient, and future-ready manufacturing sector that can position Malaysia as a leader in the global value chain.

MTSFB extends its gratitude to PSDC, Inari Amertron Berhad, Yollink, Eng Tek, and Eclimo for their hospitality, innovation, and dedication to industry excellence. Through these strategic collaborations and knowledge-sharing sessions, MTSFB remains committed to supporting Malaysia’s digital transformation and sustainable industrial growth.
