MTSFB Review Session on MCMC Public Consultation Paper

In October 2024, MCMC opened a Public Consultation Paper titled Proposed Way Forward on 100% Adoption of and Complete Migration to Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) in Malaysia. The objective of the paper is to gather industry views on the necessity of defining a clear timeframe to accelerate 100% compliance with the migration to IPv6.

As MTSFB serves as a platform for CMI stakeholders to discuss related matters, the NEA WG convened a special meeting to provide collective feedback from the industry on the paper.

The meeting was held on a Wednesday morning via Zoom, with over 40 experts actively participating in the discussion.

The session began with an overview of the paper by the MCMC Numbering and Electronic Addressing Management Department (NEAMD), followed by a Q&A session. The WG Chair, Ts. Adil Hidayat Rosli, then led the discussion, which sparked a lively exchange of views. Given that the transition to 100% IPv6 is a significant step for the communication industry in Malaysia, participants openly shared their feedback and raised important concerns about the proposed approach.

The discussion wrapped up with the completion of all components in the comment format provided by MCMC.

MTSFB extends its appreciation to all stakeholders for their valuable contributions and active engagement.
