Elevating Standards Through Public Engagement: Radiocommunications Network Facilities

On 3 September 2025, the Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) hosted a Public Engagement Session at the Auditorium, MCMC Centre of Excellence (COE). The session provided an important platform for industry stakeholders, regulators, and the public to engage in discussions on the development of draft Technical Codes (TCs) for radiocommunications network facilities.

Draft Technical Codes Presented

  1. MTSFB2412R1 – Radiocommunications Network Facilities: Smart Pole (First Revision)
Presented by Encik Nor Izhar Mohd Zain (Edgepoint Towers Sdn Bhd), this draft TC addresses the guidelines and requirements for the deployment of smart poles, ensuring efficiency, safety, and support for evolving network technologies.
  2. MTSFB2413R1 – Radiocommunications Network Facilities: Street Furniture (First Revision)
Presented by Encik Mohamad Yazid Mohamad (EDOTCO Malaysia Sdn Bhd), this draft TC provides a standardised framework for the integration of telecommunications infrastructure within street furniture, balancing technical performance with urban design considerations.
  3. MTSFB2414R1 – Radiocommunications Network Facilities: Minor Communication Infrastructure (First Revision)
Presented by Encik Eami Yusri Mohd Yusof (Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd), this draft TC outlines requirements for smaller-scale communications infrastructure to support broader network deployment and coverage.

The Public Engagement Session served as a collaborative avenue for members, industry players, and stakeholders to provide feedback and contribute to the refinement of these draft TCs. Such participation is vital to ensure that Malaysia’s technical standards remain robust, inclusive, and aligned with both national policies and international best practices.

MTSFB extends sincere appreciation to all members and stakeholders who participated and contributed to the development of these draft TCs. Your insights and commitment play an essential role in advancing Malaysia’s communications and multimedia ecosystem.
