Advancing RNF Technical Codes: Key Outcomes from April 2025 Meeting

On 17 April 2025, the Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB), through the Radiocommunication Network Facilities (RNF) Working Group, convened an online meeting to review ongoing progress and determine the way forward for key Technical Code (TC) developments.

The main discussion points included:

  1. Voting Results – Way Forward for RNF Smart Pole Technical Code
    The meeting reviewed the voting outcomes for the RNF – Smart Pole (First Revision) Technical Code and discussed the next steps based on the collective input from members.
  2. Progress Update for 3 Technical Codes under development
    The Working Group reviewed the progress of three Technical Codes currently under revision: Smart Pole, Street Furniture, and Minor Communication Infrastructure. Each is being refined to incorporate stakeholder feedback, align with current deployment practices, and meet regulatory requirements.
  1. Update on Technical Code Development Workshop
    MTSFB presented details about the upcoming Technical Code Development Workshop, scheduled for 14-16 May 2025 at Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan (venue to be confirmed). he workshop aims to bring together stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to collaboratively brainstorm, consolidate, and finalise minimum requirements for the relevant draft Technical Codes.
