Bridging Standards and Skills: MTSFB Engages JPK on Training and NOSS Collaboration

On 14 March 2025, the Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) held a strategic engagement session with Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK), specifically the Bahagian Hubungan Industri dan Kerjasama Strategik (BHIKS), led by Pn. Faizah Harun and her team, along with Pn. Markhuza from the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS) division.

The meeting aimed to explore collaboration opportunities between MTSFB, Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs), and JPK in developing training programmes aligned with technical standards in the communications and multimedia industry. Among the key highlights was the proposal to organise knowledge-sharing sessions by MTSFB experts with accredited training centres, focusing on the implementation and value of Technical Codes (TCs).

Discussions also included MTSFB’s potential involvement in the NOSS development framework, either through direct contributions to the occupational standards or through initiatives such as NOSS awareness programmes. This collaboration is envisioned to bridge the gap between industry standards and workforce skills, ensuring that training curricula reflect current and future industry needs.

This initiative aligns with MTSFB’s mission to promote standards adoption and supports national efforts to enhance skills development in Malaysia’s digital and communications ecosystem.
