On 20 March 2025, the Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) had the honour of hosting a delegation from the Global Computing Consortium (GCC), led by Mr. Jack Hu. Also in attendance were MTSFB members Mr. Rakuram Gandhi and Mr. Thaib Mustafa.
Established on 26 June 2024, the Global Computing Consortium (GCC) is China’s first international industry and standards organisation dedicated to the field of computing. During the meeting, GCC shared valuable insights into its governance structure, standards development methodologies, and strategic approach to emerging and converging technologies.
Discussions centred on potential collaboration in Artificial Intelligence (AI), including opportunities for knowledge sharing, leveraging technical expertise, understanding each other’s standards development processes, and exploring joint initiatives such as technology talks and benchmarking practices. The dialogue also touched on potential membership opportunities as a pathway to deeper engagement.
This visit marks a promising first step towards a collaborative relationship between MTSFB and GCC in the advancement of AI and global standardisation efforts.
